I've been a part of CrossFit for two years. THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE was joining CrossFit!
I've struggled with my weight my whole life. When I started CrossFit, two years ago, I weighed about 235lbs (but had a starting weight of a little over 300lbs). I started CrossFit because commercial gyms no longer helped with weightloss. And I was SUPER bored going there, day after day. I was nervous to do the trial class at CrossFit, but the coaches and athletes were friendly and encouraging. The trial class was a disaster, in my eyes, even though everything was scaled down. A bruised ego and feeling defeated, former CrossFit coach (Ted C.) pulled me aside and gave me a GREAT pep talk. After class, I thought about what he said and signed up that night.
Jump forward two years, I've lost 60 lbs. I couldn't have ever imagined being this lean and strong, in my wildest dreams. With help from Jenny A. and Brandon G., I started to achieve my goals. They taught me to understand what I need to eat to perform. Additionally, the coaches and athletes push my performance during every WOD.
CrossFit is a great community of people that's always cheering you on to become the best version of yourself. I will choose CrossFit EVERY time. I can't thank them enough for helping me and constantly push myself to become the athlete I am today. I'm excited to see what the future brings!
